This morning we started out from Bedford and saw quite a bit of countryside. We first went to the Old Bedford Village and took some pictures and looked around. It was quite interesting. After that we went on the covered bridge tour....it was awesome. We saw all kinds of them...one was new...most were old...a few were really old. We could drive over most of the but a few were too rickety.
After that we hit a few garage sales and antique markets and finally arrived in Carlisle. The town was absolutely buzzing...guess there is a huge car show here. The hotels were almost all full and charging outrageous rates...we finally found a Howard Johnsons that was reasonable but had to settle for a smoking room. Tomorrow we're heading toward Lancaster County where all of the Amish folks are settled. That should be pretty interesting too. There seems to be a festival
of some kind in just about every little town we've gone through...either the Fall Foliage Festival, or the Apple Festival, or Autumn Festival...it's really neat that they seem to go all out to celebrate the turning of the leaves here.
Tom's already asleep and I'm pretty beat too so I think I'll make this short. Hope everyone is doing well.
