Howdy y'all. Well, we bin down here in Texas fer 'most a week now and we done picked up a Texas drawl...and y'all are gonna have ta listen ta it fer a while when we git home.
We had fun today...went to that big swap meet and they didn't lie...it's HUGE! We walked from vendor to vendor for about four hours and didn't see half of the thing...believe it or not, we couldn't take much more than four hours of it. We bought another suitcase to bring all my scrapbooking stuff home in...ok...quit laughing. Picked up some souvineers and t-shirts. It's a lot like a market place rather than a swap meet. You can buy all sorts of fruit and vegetables, clothes, furniture, toys, etc. There are people who have storage units righ
t on site and they set up their stores every weekend...they even had real estate people out there selling houses. There was a big place in the centre of the meet where kids could go for carousel rides or pony rides. Had some little cars for the kids to play on...lots of fun. There were several pet places, selling puppies, birds, reptiles and so on. I hate to think about the puppies coming from puppy mills, but they probably did. We went into one of the pet shops and they fellow had sugar gliders...they are the cutest little animals....Amy, if we could have brought one home (oops, two cuz they mate for life) for you, we sure would have. I'm sure you would have loved them. These little guys lived in a little purse and posed for me perfectly. They are native to Australia so maybe you saw some when you were down there.
After the swap meet, we came back here and made a sandwich then tried to fit all our stuff into our suitcases. On the way down our bag weighed in at 48 lbs., so we've got to make sure we don't go over 50 or we'll have to pay extra. I put all the heavy stuff in the carry on...good thing Tom's been working out!
Went out to dinner tonight at a place called Saltgrass Steak House. It's just down the road from the hotel so we could walk there. It was really a fun place to go and the food was excellent. Tom said it was the best prime rib he's ever had.
Well, our last day here will be tomorrow...we fly out at about 7:00 p.m. and will get into Spokane around midnight then stay at Tom's for the night and drive back on Tuesday. Sure wish I had another week or two off so I could stay down in my craft room and play with all my new stuff for a while. Oh well, work is much better these days than it was a couple months ago so guess I can hang in there for a couple more years and then retire and spend all my time cutting and pasting.
Talk with y'all soon.
